How a record moves through the network
A product's digital record moves through six stages as the item moves through its physical life:
Upstream — the DPP Issuer creates the product record; mills, trims suppliers and manufacturers contribute production data and conformity credentials including Substances of Concern, as the item is made.
QR Codes. Each unique identifier creates a PRODUCT ID for brands to share with customers via QR Code (or NFC) and swing tags.
Consumer Privacy Mode — at first sale, the tag's identifier is hidden. It stays hidden for as long as the consumer owns the product.
Authenticate — the tag is checked against its record to confirm it's the genuine, original item. IINSTANT FREE AUTHENTICATION
A physical chip-level identifier checked against GCN's own records catches copied tags that a printed QR code architecturally cannot.Downstream — take-back, repair, resale and rental partners add to the record as the product moves through its second, third and later lives.
Sorting — sorters grade the item, check for Substances of Concern flags, and record the sorting outcome.
End-of-Life Recycling — the record closes out the product's working life, and recycling routing is captured against it.
Use GCN's interlinked smart system to divert valuable textiles from landfill, meet emissions targets, regulations and recover ROI.
